社宅建築體作為現代城市聚落的最小單位，不只是蒼白的政策，也並非只是回應當代特定族群的需求，實際上揭示的是關乎整座城市的未來。
在現代城市中，有別於過去人類文明的聚落發展模式，在實體維度的空間與時間裡，互不相識的我們是否準備好一起空降在一個個新的垂直聚落？城市與人的關係如何因為這樣快速的變化而因應、調節？「未來學家」作為面對未來城市的準備，向未來探究、同時向過去學習，城市正是人類世界的縮影，我們是否可以以寓言的方式對城市政策的未來進行一種奇觀式的幻想？直面這近未來的預言……

未來圖書室在社宅的縫隙中置入一個不尋常的空間，由來自過去記憶與未來科技的家具所營造，裝載承載人類思想的書作為思考與探問的起點。選書來自8位說書人對未來城市的提問，邀請人們坐下來，透過閱讀、思考、記錄，創造出展開“我們想要的城市生活？” 思考與對話的場所。
「未來的人們會自己搭建居所嗎？」、「人與人的關係是什麼？」、「在記憶所繫之處，誰消失了？」、「遠離城市？社區的解藥何在。」、「居住如何成為一個地方？一個家？」、「天使啊，我們是背向未來飛奔嗎？」、「我和家具聊天，來完成末來藍圖的想像與實踐。」、「如果給你一次回到過去改變一件事的機會，你會怎麼做？」
城市、鄰里、家、或是一平米的土地，在未來的生活裡，我們需要如何的生活場所？更大或更小，更便利或是更緩慢，更科技或是更簡單？
The Future Library inserts an unconventional space into the social housing. Furnished with objects blending past memories and future technology, the library serves as a starting point for thought and inquiry, housing books that carry human ideas. The curated collection is a response to the questions about the future city posed by eight storytellers, inviting people to sit, read, reflect, and record their thoughts. This space is designed to spark a conversation about "what kind of city life do we want?"
The questions posed by the storytellers include: "Will future people build their own homes?" "What will human relationships be like?" "At the place where memories are tied, who has disappeared?" "Fleeing the city? Where is the cure for community?" "How does a residence become a place, a home?" "Angels, are we flying backward into the future?" "I chat with furniture to imagine and realize a blueprint for the future." "If you had a chance to go back and change one thing, what would you do?"
Whether it's the city, the neighborhood, the home, or a single square meter of land, what kind of living places will we need in the future? Will they be bigger or smaller? More convenient or slower-paced? More technological or simpler?
好伴社計 Happen Social Design
「好伴社計」成立於2013年，在臺中舊市區扎根，以共同工作空間為載體，致力於青年實踐與舊城再生兩大主題，串連社區在地團體，讓各種好的改變在這裡發生。2018年，好伴延續對於社群合作的想像，轉以社會設計事務所的形式，將不同議題視作實踐社會設計的場域，例如探索居住議題的社會住宅計畫，同時大膽跨入公共藝術領域。近年也和高中小等教育現場合作開發社會設計課程，持續推廣社會設計理念。
「好伴」由跨領域的團隊組成，綜合社會學、景觀設計、建築、商管的背景，致力於建立跨領域多元的利害關係人共同參與模式，以實際行動解決社會問題，創造社會價值。
